Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal.
/From a headstone in Ireland
Grieving is a necessary passage and a difficult transition
to finally letting go of sorrow
– it is not a permanent rest stop.
Tears shed for another person are not a sign of weakness.
They are a sign of a pure heart.
/José N. Harris
No one ever really dies as long as they took the time
to leave us with fond memories.
A life without sorrow is like a painting without shadows.
Tears are words from the heart
that can’t be spoken.
When it rains
look for rainbows,
when it´s dark
look for stars.
Stars are openings in Heaven
where our loved ones shine down.
Crying doesn’t indicate that you are weak.
Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive.
Storms make trees take deeper roots.
A storm may come
but as it came
it shall pass
Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love,
the things you are, the things you never want to lose.
The sorrow which has no vent in tears
may make other organs weep.
Recovery begins from the darkest moment.
Without you in my arms, I feel an emptiness in my soul.
I find myself searching the crowds for your face
– I know it’s an impossibility, but I cannot help myself.
It’s so curious: one can resist tears and ‘behave’ very well in the hardest hours of grief.
But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window,
or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed,
or a letter slips from a drawer… and everything collapses.
Tears are the silent language of grief.
Grief is a normal and natural response to loss. It is originally an unlearned feeling process.
Keeping grief inside increases your pain.
When one person is missing the whole world seems empty.
What soap is for the body, tears are for the soul.
There are things that we don’t want to happen but have to accept,
things we don’t want to know but have to learn,
and people we can’t live without but have to let go.
If I can see pain in your eyes then share with me your tears.
If I can see joy in your eyes then share with me your smile.
Grief changes shape, but it never ends.
Take care 💕
